Parents¡¯ perfectionism, depression, parenting behavior, and children¡¯s maladjustment abstract

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of self-oriented perfectionism and other-oriented perfectionism mediated by depression and parenting behavior on children¡¯s maladjustment according to the mother and father. The theoretical model was specified and estimated. Subjects of this study consisted of 230 parents drawn from preschools. And SPSSWIN and LISREL ¥· program was applied to analyze data. The theoretical model proposed was supported by the data and fitted adequately. As the results, first, mother¡¯s self-oriented perfectionism exerted a direct effect on control parenting behaviors. Second, mother & father¡¯s other-oriented perfectionism intermediated by depression, on control parenting behaviors and children¡¯s external & internal maladjustment.
